Joan Blackwood joined National Vision as Chief Marketing Officer in December 2019 and transitioned to her current role as Special Advisor in October 2021.
With more than three decades of marketing experience, she has expertise across all areas of the discipline including strategic brand management, CRM, advertising and media, digital marketing, e-commerce and research/insights.
Prior to joining National Vision, Joan served as the Chief Marketing Officer for the University of Phoenix and was responsible for using marketing to increase customer leads, improve customer acquisition costs and improve conversion rates – a model aligned with our goals here at National Vision. Prior to that, she held the Chief Marketing Officer role for companies including 1-800-Contacts/Glasses.com, Zumba Fitness and Monster Worldwide as well as a variety of marketing leadership roles.
Joan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Indiana University.
