Katherine Tai, OD, discovered her passion for optometry early on choosing the profession after a sixth-grade career day project. Fast forward to 2019, and Dr. Tai graduated from Illinois College of Optometry and spent the next three years in private practice before making a career shift that brought her greater balance and fulfillment. In 2023, she joined Bay Area Eye Care Inc., an independent practice affiliated with the National Vision Doctor of Optometry network.
Now, as a float doctor, she travels between nine America’s Best locations in the Bay Area, ensuring consistent, high-quality patient care.
Initially hesitant about joining a corporate-affiliated practice, Dr. Tai quickly found a supportive environment with well-trained staff, modern equipment and strong team communication. Beyond patient care, she participates in community outreach programs providing free eye exams and glasses to children in need. She also mentors future optometrists and collaborates with colleagues to improve office efficiencies.
