From Student to OD, National Vision Doctor of Optometry Network Makes Transition Easy

Dr. Denisa Figueroa began exploring career opportunities well before graduation, searching for a practice environment that would allow her to provide patient care with confidence and clinical independence. Through conversations with doctors in the National Vision Doctor of Optometry network and a clinical rotation at an office adjacent to an America's Best location, she found the support, autonomy and mentorship she was looking for.
After graduation, Dr. Figueroa joined the network as a float doctor serving multiple Chicago-area offices. With guidance from Area Doctors, experienced colleagues and a structured onboarding process, she quickly built confidence while gaining valuable experience across several practice settings.
Today, less than a year into her career, Dr. Figueroa also serves as an Ambassador, helping connect future ODs with opportunities in the network while sharing the important role optometrists play in protecting patients' overall health.
