Job Responsibilities

General Summary:  Manages all aspects of the production departments and coordinates the work flow to, through, and out of these departments while managing costs in a safe and secure manner.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Oversees all aspects of production to secure levels of quality and performance.
  • Utilizes supervisors and team leads to ensure proper training is provided to employees on processes, SOPs, equipment and safety.
  • Maintains the production department budgets including, but not limited, to labor, supplies, consumables, spoilage and equipment cost.
  • Controls costs and production metrics.
  • Works with other department managers to resolve interdepartmental issues.
  • Submits daily reports on department progress.
  • Ensures that all safety and cleanliness standards are met in all work areas.
  • Assists in analyzing and recommending the purchase of new equipment.
  • Works with and coaches supervisors to ensure proper communication and coaching of associates is done on a consistent basis and according to company policy.
  • Maintains performance records for production supervisors.
  • Reviews associate performance through HR's performance management system.
  • Interviews and selects candidates for production department positions with the assistance of the department's supervisors.
  • Updates and implements department Policies and Procedures; enforces all Company Policies and Procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7 to 10 years of experience in related field.
  • Requires at least 5 years of supervisor/management experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge of JDA & DVI preferred.
  • Beginner to intermediate knowledge of MS Office including word and excel.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Sustained light (20lbs or less) physical effort required.
