Regional Clinical Director - EGW

Job Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Partners with Clinical Team Leads and affiliated Doctors of Optometry to promote clinical excellence, quality patient care, compliance with clinical standards, and consistent execution of best practices across the assigned region.

• Leads doctor capacity planning by aligning patient demand, doctor coverage, scheduling strategies, and growth opportunities to improve patient access and business performance.

• Serves as a key liaison between Clinical Services and Field Operations, partnering with Operations and Recruiting to develop doctor coverage strategies and support peak, non-peak, extended-hours, and other patient access initiatives.

• Leads, mentors, and develops Clinical Team Leads, ensuring consistency in doctor leadership, communication, training, conflict resolution, onboarding, peer and chart reviews, and scheduling.

• Develops and supports scalable doctor coverage and sublease strategies that improve patient access, practice growth, operational efficiency, and financial performance.

• Leads implementation of doctor, exam, and patient access initiatives, including Sunday coverage, remote care, capacity optimization, and other strategic programs.

• Monitors doctor slot utilization and exam availability, using data and performance trends to improve capacity, patient access, clinical quality, and practice performance.

• Partners with Field Operations to analyze doctor engagement and retention trends and develop strategies to improve satisfaction and retention.

• Develops and implements doctor training and onboarding programs, including programs for new graduates, clinical efficiency, Electronic Medical Records, and Remote Medicine.

• Supports the testing and implementation of new optometric equipment, clinical processes, and programs.

• Develops content and presentations for Professional Services meetings and maintains Clinical and New Doctor Orientation materials.

• Builds strong relationships with doctors, Clinical Leaders, and current and prospective leaseholders through regular communication, coaching, and store visits to support engagement, retention, development, and practice growth.

Preferred Qualifications

Education

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree (Required)

Work Experience

• 10+ years of experience in training and development within a healthcare or clinical environment (Reguired)
• 4–6 years of related management or leadership experience (Required)

• Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and team development skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to partner effectively with clinical and operational leaders
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related business applications

Licenses & Certifications

• Current Doctor of Optometry (OD) license (Preferred)
• Additional relevant clinical, leadership, or professional certifications (Preferred)
