Kevin Tan, M.D. boasts nearly a decade of experience in the field of ophthalmology. He serves as President of Bay Area Eye Care, Inc. where he oversees multiple offices located throughout Northern California. Dr. Tan is also a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology as well as cataract and refractive surgery.

Dr. Tan’s educational background is vast, including a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Chemistry from Cornell University, where he graduated cum laude. He also holds a master’s in clinical research from Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Tan earned his medical doctorate at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University, where he also earned special qualifications in biomedical research. He bolstered his medical expertise in his residency, which he completed at the University of California San Diego’s Shiley Eye Institute.

A life-long learner, Dr. Tan is an active member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery as well as the San Francisco Medical Society. Outside of his clinical work, he enjoys cooking, gardening, photography and scuba diving. He and his husband live in San Francisco with their two cats Chewie and Boba.
